at least I think they are. From what I can gather they are Fleer/Skybox E-X2000, which were released in 2000. Makes sense, doesn't it? Anyway, I stumbled upon the Finley at my local card shop and had to have it immediately. I didn't collect at all when these first came out and had never seen them before. My photo doesn't do them justice as the clouded portion in the center of each card is transparent. The borders themselves are quite shiny and although these two have the same color border, there are several other color combos. The Elway I picked up for cheap on Ebay.
I've got a Reggie Miller coming as part of a Checkoutmycards.com order and I plan to pick up several more of my favorite players. I was considering picking up a box, but they are still quite expensive, even though they are about 10 years old. Anyway, if anyone has some they're dying to get rid of, let me know. I think they're awesome. Later.
that's the Fleer/Skybox 1997 eX2000 set... they did baseball as well.
ReplyDeleteYou're right CC. I hadn't looked at the backs in a while and forgot they weren't actually made in 2000.
ReplyDeleteI think these were released in 96-97 for basketball, which explains why they are expensive for a box, you can get a Kobe RC. Otherwise it'd probably be pretty affordable.
ReplyDeleteNo idea where it came from, but I think I might have a Grant Hill from the set I can send you if you want it.
