Big D Customs No Purchase Necessary Giveaway!

Here we go! Time for a contest of sorts. If you've ever looked closely at the back of a wrapper you've probably noticed that you can get cards without even purchasing anything. All you have to do is put your name and address on a 3x5 index card and mail it in! Maybe you'll win, maybe you won't. So far, I've haven't ever gotten anything back, but I'll keep trying. My contest is sorta like that. You don't really have to do much of anything to win. What will I win, you may ask? Good question. For those of you who don't know, I like to create custom cards. Some of you may already own one while others are surely DREAMING of owning one. If you want to see some examples, click the Big D Custom Cards button to the right. If you are too lazy to do that, just scroll down a little.

You could win something like this...

or this...

or maybe even this. Bah, you say! I don't like any of those guys. I mean, really, Andre Ethier, who-hoo would want a card of him? Well, that's where you as a contestant come in. I've already picked the prize, now you need to pick a subject. It can be a sport or non-sport card, I don't really care as long as I can find a suitable image to work with.

Here's how it's gonna work. I will award 5 custom cards to 5 different winners. All you have to do to enter is leave a comment telling me who you want on your card, should you end up a lucky dog. Once all the entries are in, I will randomize a list and select 5 names. That's it. Now, I'd like to get more than 1 or 2 entries and I have no idea how many people check out my blog but never comment, so I'm going to add a bonus to get as many participants as possible. In addition to your 1 entry by adding a comment, you can earn 3 bonus entries by putting a link to my contest on your blog if you've got one. If you don't, I'm sorry, you'd better create one fast. (Make sure you tell me that you made a link in your comment, in case I don't notice it on my own.) That will give some of you a total of 4 entries and yes, you can win more than once if your name happens to come back around in the random drawing.

The contest will end at midnight (Texas time) on Sunday, May 23rd. Don't forget to leave a comment with you choice of subject and I'll do my best to make your wildest dreams come true. If you win, that is! Later.

  14. I would like to go out on a limb here and put in the first hockey request. I would very much be interested in a custom card of Bill Guerin while on the Penguins. There aren't many of his cards out there with him in a Pens uni so this would be really cool to see what you could come up with.

  36. I already own two awesome Big D customs but naturally I want more! MY first choice would be a roller derby card of my lovely wife Esther Gin N Juice... If I had to chose a more main stream sport I would chose Danny Tartabull as a member of the Chicago White Sox or Buck O'Neil as a Cubs coach. GREAT contest. Your customs rule!

  37. Can't believe I've not seen your blog before Big D. Great custom cards, and blog. If I'm one of the lucky 5 I'd like Billy Butler (I'm a homer). Link to you from me at: http://kcscorecards.blogspot.com/2010/05/free-custom-card-sign-me-up.html

  43. I commented before, but I changed my mind for who I'd like if I win. Tyronn Lue is still my fallback, but my #1 choice is Kywin Supernaw. Only issue? I can only find one action photo of Kywin online...and it's Cris Carter catching a touchdown over him.

    http://www.bobmenzies.com/content/images/clientele/pic_supernaw_action.jpg

That said, if I win and you can manage a sweet card with that, go for it! If not Lue works just fine too.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Your custom cards look sweet and it would be GREAT to win one. My choice would be Aurelio Rodriguez - Detroit Tigers.

    Adding a link later today....thanks!!

  45. Big D - I just had to respond to this contest. As a custom card maker myself, I always want to see what the "others" can do.

I like what I have seen so far ... but my challenge would be to make a really cool soccer card - especially since its WORLD CUP time.

Up to the challenge ? I would love to be 1 of th 5 winners.

    cheers,

    Chuck's Used Cards

  46. Thanks for the contest.

    Linked.

I'd like to see a custom Orel Hershiser card, should I win. Even if I don't win, I'd like to see a custom Orel Hershiser card.

Should I beat the odds and get four of the top five spots, I'd like to have an Orel card for each team he played for (Dodgers, Indians, Giants, and Mets).

A boy can dream, can't he?

  47. I'd love to see a custom Big D Bob Dernier card. And I've just added a link:

  50. I'd love to have a Big D custom!

For my player I'd like to see a card of Adrian Peterson in an OU uniform. That would be cool.

I'll add up a link here in a minute.

Cool contest idea by the way.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I would pick Jason Michaels as the player. Thank you so much for the awesome contest!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Steve Garvey, should I happen to win.

I love that Ethier and the colors are perfect, but the action photo really brings the whole package home. A portrait would not have worked as well.

    Thanks.
