Hot Chick On A Wrapper

Well, racing hot anyway. Oh, and marketing hot! I'm talking about Danica Patrick, of course, as seen below gracing the wrappers of Press Pass' 2010 Element release. Danica has been an Indycar staple for a few years now, but this year is branching out into NASCAR territory. She'll make a half dozen or so starts in the Nationwide Series whenever her Indycar schedule allows.

Danica gets way more pub than any other female driver and while she does have a win under her belt, let's be honest, it's because of her looks. (I still say Sarah Fisher is just as good a driver, if she could ever get in decent equipment.) Okay, that's enough Danica Mania. Let's get to the cards. The Element set is unique in that it is printed on recycled cardstock, so it's good for the environment! You get 6 cards per pack with decent odds of pulling race used relics and autos. Here is what the base cards look like.

I think these cards are pretty cool myself. The drivers are featured in full color with a muted background and green border. The Ryan Newman is a red border parallel, but I don't think it's an insert as it just has a regular number on the back. The backs feature black & white photos of the cars with a little paragraph of driver info. Kinda bland in my opinion.

The cards of the "rides" get the same look as the drivers cards with full color photos on the same muted background and green border. It's a nice clean look. Actually, it's kind of a dirty look as the cars appear to be racing in a sandstorm somewhere, maybe Phoenix. Unfortunately, I didn't get anything but base cards so I don't know what the inserts might look like. I don't really collect racing cards anymore, but it's fun to open packs of something different every once in a while. Who knows, maybe I'll pull a Danica race worn firesuit card. That would be a relic that was really close to the action. I hear she goes commando underneath. See anything you like or need, let me know. Later.
